A Playroom for a Princess

This playroom is for the same family as the last post I did on the entry way. They have an almost one year old baby girl and needed a place for her to play. They never used their dining room and all the furniture in there was hand me down, so they threw out the traditional home layout and asked me to make their dining room a playroom!

Since its right off the entry way, I wanted to make sure it was pretty spectacular since anyone that comes to the door will see it. The walls were painted repose gray. The rug is from Overstock.com. We saved a ton of money as there is one for double the price of what we paid at RH Baby. The light fixture and tent are RH baby. The clear floating shelves are ones I have used over and and over because they are from Clear Display Solutions and are $30! The banner is from Etsy and the table and chairs, gallery wall, "PLAY" letters, and the toy storage unit are Pottery Barn Kids.

I love the chalkboard detail on the front. So great for kiddos!

The little sheepskin rug is also from Overstock.

The ruler growth cart that is just adorable is from Etsy.

I just love how this playroom turned out. My daughter is friends with theirs, so I get the added bonus of playing in this adorable playroom from time to time!

New Entry Way

I just completed an Entry Way for a cute client of mine. All of the furniture in it was hand me down and she wanted to feel like it was her own. It was a bit dark in there and she wanted it to feel light and bright.

Its Amazing what a coat of paint (Repose Gray - Sherwin Williams) will do. I had the chair rail painted white too. Some people like to hide it by painting it the same color as the wall, but I like to accentuate it! The rug is from Ballard Designs, the mirror, lamps, and light fixture are Shades of Light, and the table is from Layla Grayce. The Boxwoods are wholesale from Park Hill. I hate cords. I wish I would have taped the cord along the console with electrical tape before I took the picture. That is a great way to hide them.

It is so much lighter in there! The two cute prints are from HomeGoods.

Entry ways are my favorite to decorate. I love the fact that they are the first thing people see of your house. Its your home's first impression, and I like to make a good one!
